Ms. Marcus’ broad-based background with children and adolescents includes work in a developmental pediatric clinic, in a psychiatric hospital, and in a state mental health agency.


Ms. Marcus’ areas of expertise include assessment and treatment of learning disabilities, dyslexia, Nonverbal Learning Disorders (NLD), and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Specialty areas include treatment for depression; anxiety and stress; and development of healthy parenting strategies. In addition to working with children, adolescents, and families in a private practice, she lectures nationally on Multiple Intelligences and Assertive Skills.  Ms. Marcus develops curricula for Multiple Intelligences that are specific to school settings.  She has taught Multiple Intelligences for years at private schools.

Ms. Marcus has specialty training in identifying the nature of each student's learning difficulty and in offering concrete suggestions to parents, teachers, and school systems regarding remediation of the problem.

Ms. Marcus holds a Bachelors and Master of Education degrees from Clemson University and has performed post-graduate work at the University of South Carolina.

Gloria Hash Marcus is a Licensed PsychoEducational Specialist, a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Nationally Certified School Psychol­ogist, and a Structured Literacy Teacher who has 49 years of ex­perience working with children, adolescents, and adults. Ms. Marcus has extensive experience in school systems, having served as an administrator, school psychologist, consultant, and teacher. 

Ms. Marcus has authored three books: Nonverbal Learning Disorders A School and Life Perspective, R U Assertive? Stand Up Skills for Teenagers, and The Other Side of Tomorrow which can be reviewed and purchased by following the links on the Books and Documentary page of this website.

Evaluations address student issues from home and school to assist students in achieving success academically, emotionally, and socially.
